Scott Poore is a passionate animal advocate and the founder of On A Mission KC, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting long-term shelter dogs and rural animal shelters. After leaving a successful career in corporate America, Scott pursued a mission to make a tangible difference in the lives of overlooked shelter pets.
Mission Driven Goods: A Legacy of Impact
In 2016, Scott founded Mission Driven Goods, a pet-themed apparel company that channeled 100% of its proceeds into animal rescue efforts. Over nearly a decade, this initiative helped more than 1,500 long-term shelter pets find loving homes and raised over $1.25 million for shelters, rescues, and outreach groups. Mission Driven Goods officially closed in December 2025, leaving behind a legacy of compassion and measurable impact in the animal welfare community.
On A Mission KC: Expanding the Reach
Building upon the success of Mission Driven Goods, Scott established On A Mission KC in 2023. The nonprofit shines a light on rural animal shelters and the dogs who have been waiting the longest for adoption. Through creative initiatives like the Billboard Campaign, Scott has brought visibility to countless shelter pets, giving them the opportunity to find their forever homes.

In March 2022, Clinton Animal Shelter in Missouri faced a dire situation—running out of food while caring for a full capacity of homeless animals. Scott Poore's swift action turned this crisis into a beacon of hope.
Upon learning of the shelter's plight, Scott shared a heartfelt plea on social media, linking to Clinton's Amazon Wishlist. What began as a simple post reached over 75,000 people, garnered more than 780 shares, and was picked up by two news channels. In just five days, the shelter received an overwhelming response: pallets of pet food, enough to sustain them for a year and even share with neighboring shelters in need.
This remarkable outcome exemplifies the power of community and the impact of Scott's Rural Animal Shelter Tours. Through these tours, Scott visits underserved shelters, amplifying their needs and connecting them with resources and support. His efforts have led to over $20,000 in donations, the promotion of hundreds of long-term shelter pets, and the establishment of sustainable practices to ensure shelters never face such shortages again.
